What are we?
Cheque Please! aims to distill the best food journalism that the internet has to offer. It is essentially a natural evolution of the linkblog… for food. Each day we scour the web to find those stories that pique our tastebuds and stimulate our minds. And we won’t be confined to those lucky few who get paid to eat for a living. Rather we are literary gourmands who don’t care where our next feast comes from… so long as it’s a feast.
So prepare yourself for a banquet of sweet, bitter and downright distasteful prose from those gastro geeks, bloggers, blaggers… call them what you will.
Who are we?
The culinary ringmasters are Sarah O’Meara and Ed Gerstner: a pair of increasingly corpulent denizens of South London, who live in fear of they day that they can no longer source Kim Chi, Japanese Curry paste, or half kilo jars of anchovies from their corner shop. Sarah is a journalist for the Press Association, where she writes about food among other things, and Ed is an editor of Nature Physics and dab hand with a wok.
